Help Needed – Awards Banquet and Fundraiser
Mason-Dixon Clay Busters are planning for our primary fundraising event, the 3rd Annual “Awards Banquet and Fundraiser”, scheduled for September 8, 2018. We ask for your help in making a donation of a gift basket, gift cards, products, services, memorabilia or a special experience! Every donation makes a difference to the youth in our community.
The 2017 “Awards Banquet and Fundraiser” raised over $2,000 which has funded vital ongoing operations. The monies raised go to support the costs of targets and/or competition fees and do not include ammunition, equipment, and travel expenses that are the responsibility of the participants.
All donations, large or small, will help make the 2018 “Awards Banquet and Fundraiser” event, the most successful ever.

Fall Fun Youth Trap League Sign-Up
WHO: Limited to the first 30 participants who sign up using our form and once approved send us their SCTP paperwork and $20 registration fees. NOVICES AND INEXPERIENCED SHOOTERS ARE WELCOME, however we have limited coaching resources so we can only take the first five (5) to sign up and are approved. WHAT: Weekly trap league where individuals shoot two rounds of trap (50 targets) from the 16-yard line
WHERE: Glen Rock Shooting Club, 22 Winchester Rd, Shrewsbury, PA 17361
WHEN: Tuesdays starting September 4, 2018 and continuing through October 2, 2018 (5 Weeks) with a rain makeup date of October 9, 2018.
TIME: First squad out at 5:30PM, last squad out at 7:00PM
LEAGUE FEES: $0 (However all shooters must join the SCTP – $20)
WEEKLY TARGET FEES: $7

Need your input, planning for next year!
In addition to the team’s normal Tuesday trap practices and local/state/national competitions, we are looking to take a small group of trap shooters and form a more competitive group. This would be Mason-Dixon’s top squad(s) at states and nationals. If selected, competitive trap team members would need to commit to attending one additional practice per week (day and location TBD) and attending a few additional competitions (TBD) during the year. There would be an additional charge to be on the competitive trap team; however, we will do our best to keep this cost as low as possible.

Volunteers Needed, Coaches

Coaches Paperwork
Coaches, thank you for your support. I will need everyone to turn in their 2018-19 SCTP Volunteer Position Registration Form … please fill it out and either mail it to me or scan a copy and email it to me. I would really like to get everyone into the system as soon as possible. Those helping with the Fall Fun League I will need everything completed before September 4, 2018.

2018 SCTP/SASP National Championship Recap
What a tremendous week, eight days of fun, fellowship and firearms! Twenty-seven team members and their families traveled to Marengo, Ohio and the Cardinal Shooting Center for the 2018 SCTP/SASP Nationals Team Championship. This was Mason-Dixon’s 9th year attending the SCTP Nationals and it proved to be one of our best.

2019 SCTP Nationals Hotel Information
The hotel we used for the 2018 SCTP Nationals is not allowing me to book a block of rooms for 2019. I checked on their website and what they do have is individual rooms that you can reserve for $114 For additional information contact the Holiday Inn Express & Suites : Sunbury-Columbus Area. Located just 15 mins south, this is one of the closest hotels to the Cardinal Center.
Trap States Hotel Information
The PA SCTP & AIM Trap Championships will be held in Elysburg PA on June 8-9, 2019. I have a block of 10 rooms for the night of Friday, June 7, 2019 and a block of 15 rooms for Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the Hampton Inn in Danville PA. Rooms can be reserved for one day or for both. The Group will receive a special rate of $145.00/per Two Queen Bed rooms/per night + tax. The Group will have until May 7, 2019, or until the block is full to secure reservations, after this date the rates go up and the remaining rooms will be released back into the hotel’s general inventory. Sponsors and Donations
As I’m sure you can understand, it takes a lot of resources to run a quality youth program like ours so Mason-Dixon is continually looking for additional partners and sponsors to help keep the costs down for our athletes and parents. The registration fees our athletes pay cover only a fraction of the true cost associated with participating in our program. Without the help we receive from our supporters many of the athletes in our program couldn’t afford to participate in the Shooting Sports.
That’s why I need your help! Over the years I have just about exhausted my list of potential sponsors. I’m hoping that some of you may be willing to help find new sponsors for the team.
While businesses that sell shooting supplies are a perfect fit, don’t limit yourself to those. A local business whose owner supports the shooting sports and/or youth activities might be an ideal candidate. The person who owns an auto parts store or hair salon might be an avid shooter or 2nd Amendment supporter who would be proud to be associated with a youth shooting team.
Every dollar we raise goes right back to the team and since we are a 501c3, donations to the team can be tax deductible.
Help me help our athletes! Contact me to get started and for valuable information I have included a Donation Request Letter that you can use to help you approach potential supporters. If everyone chips in and finds a sponsor or two it would make a huge difference in the ability of our program to meet the needs of our athletes.
