The school normally cost $200; however, the team covers the cost for Mason-Dixon Assistant Coaches.

If this sounds like something you would like to do, give me a call at 717-235-0743 and we can discuss it in a little more detail. For our program to continue WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

AMSOIL Firearm Cleaner & Lubricant

MDCB FUNDRAISER

Dependable Firearm Performance
Hunters and recreational shooters need their guns to perform when called upon, sometimes after an extended period of storage, after sitting for hours in a wet duck blind or while on a remote hunting trip with few opportunities to clean their gun daily. Since nothing will ruin a hunting trip or day at the range quicker than a malfunctioning firearm, AMSOIL firearm products were tested in a variety of firearms typically found at the range and in the field. The information gathered, along with extensive testing in the AMSOIL chemical lab, resulted in products dialed in for outstanding firearm protection in the most demanding conditions. As seen in the images, AMSOIL firearm products guard against damaging corrosion, helping keep firearms working properly for generations.

AMSOIL Firearm Cleaner (FCPSC)
• Penetrates deep into hard-to-reach components
• Effectively cleans fouling and powder residue from all firearm surfaces, reducing misfires and increasing reliability
• Protects guns against corrosion, allowing for safe storage and preserving performance, reliability and value

AMSOIL Synthetic Firearm Lubricant
• Effectively lubricates and protects firearms, helping extend life and prevent blockage, jams and wear
• Outstanding protection and performance in both hot and cold climates
• Specifically formulated for firearms, offering superior performance

2017 SCTP National Championship Recap

What a tremendous week, eight days of fun, fellowship and firearms! A Mason-Dixon record twenty-nine team members and their families traveled to Marengo, Ohio and the Cardinal Shooting Center for the 2017 SCTP/SASP Nationals Team Championship. This was Mason-Dixon’s 8th year attending the SCTP Nationals and it proved to be one of our best.

The week started off strong Saturday and Sunday with seven members of the team shooting Double Trap and Bunker (International) Trap. Mason-Dixon did very well in both events. In Double Trap our Senior Varsity squad finished a very respectable 8th while our Bunker Trap squads finished just off the podium in 4th in the Open Division and 9th in the Senior Division. In addition, Mark Beardsley, Mason-Dixon’s high shooter, took first place earning him the title of Collegiate Division National Bunker Trap Champion. The second year in a row he has earned that title.

Monday and Tuesday saw rain play a huge role in all the events. We sent 11 athletes onto the mud soaked courses for what would be a couple good days of sporting clays. Our Senior Varsity squads finished 26th and 107th while our Open squad finished 12th. Dawson Sterner was the team’s high over all shooter for the event placing him 4th as an individual in the Junior Senior Varsity Division.

Fifteen Clay Busters hit the Skeet fields Wednesday and Thursday for what was said to be the biggest skeet tournament, in participants, in the world. Our Senior Varsity squads placed 39th, 53rd, and 87th. Our Junior Senior Varsity squad placed 19th. Mark Beardsley ran 100 straight on Thursday on his way to a team high two-day total of 199/200 earning him the title of Collegiate Division National Champion.

Thursday also saw our pistol division take to the range. Mason-Dixon sent six Senior Varsity shooters to the competition. Our Senior Varsity squad placed 9th while our Open placed 26th. Carson DeVoe posed the team’s best time helping the Senior Varsity squad shave over 25 seconds off of last years’ time.

We started the day Friday with Double Skeet, our only single-day event of the championship. All 15 of our skeet shooters participated and Mason-Dixon fared well. Our Senior Varsity squads finished 36th and 38th while our Open squad finished just out of the awards in 7th. Dawson Sterner was the team’s high over all shooter for the event placing him 2nd as an individual in the Junior Senior Varsity Division.

The week came to an end with Trap on Friday and Saturday. A team high twenty-nine Clay Busters participated in the two day 200 targets final event. Our Senior Varsity squads finished 31st, and 58th. Our Junior Senior Varsity finished 36th. Our Open squads finished 46th, 84th, and 132nd. Gianna Patti shot her personal best placing her 5th as an individual in the Ladies Junior Senior Varsity Division. In addition, Noah Temple, helped earn Pennsylvania’s All State Trap team a second place finish.

Please join me in congratulating all of our athletes and coaches. Their dedication and commitment to excellence has made Mason-Dixon one of the elite programs in the nation. Our program placed 15th overall in the nation, up from 28th in 2016. We were also the highest placing team in Pennsylvania.

Special thanks to our wonderful families and friends who made the week so incredibly special. It’s never too early to begin planning for next year! We already have campsites and hotel rooms booked for next year so if you would like to join in on the fun and excitement of 2018 SCTP Nationals just let us know and we will give you the information you need to get started.  If you attended nationals this year and have any suggestions for what we can do to make next year even better, please feel free to share your thoughts.

2017 PA SCTP Sporting Clays Championship Recap!

Mason-Dixon’s Sporting Clays athletes traveled northeast to the Factoryville Sportsmen’s Club and the 2017 PA SCTP Sporting Clays Championship. Even with a few problems with the traps, the club did an excellent job putting on the event. As in the past, that BBQ’ed chicken was outstanding!!!

The 100 target Sporting Clays event drew 208 athletes from across the state. The course included some very difficult stations; however, our athletes were prepared and managed to do very well.

I’m so proud of this year’s sporting clays division. The way the group pulled together and encouraged each other was amazing. Everyone shot above their average! The effort and dedication of our athletes, coaches, and parents was commendable!!!

Below is a list of our athletes who placed on Saturday, please join me in congratulating them on their outstanding achievements!!!

3rd Place Varsity Squad – 245 (25 varsity squads were in this division)
Daniel Riale – 80
Sam Rooney – 83
Elijah LaBrozzi – 82

3rd Place Open Squad – 205
Dawson Sterner – 84
Chloe Sterner – 60
Ryanne Whiteman – 61

1st Place Collegiate – Preston Whiteman 94 (High Overall Score of the Day)
3rd Place Intermediate/Advanced Lady – Ryanne Whiteman 61

In related news, we still have a few details to work out but I’m very happy to say that Mason-Dixon’s Sporting Clays division will be back in 2018. In addition, we just received word that the Blue Ridge Sportsman Club has been selected to host the 2018 PA SCTP Sporting Clays Championship. Being that Blue Ridge is our practice home, it should really help everyone cut down on next year’s travel expenses…and that’s good news!

2017 PA State SCTP & AIM Trap Championship Recap

Thirty-nine of Mason-Dixon’s best traveled to Elysburg Pennsylvania for the PA SCTP & AIM Trap Championships.

First up was Saturday’s PA SCTP Championship. Our Intermediate Entry squad (6-8 grade) of Connor Orr, Ben Carey, Daniel Pike, Oliver Fromm and Michael Diorio finished in second place with a score of 379. Individual winners on Saturday include Robbie Carpenter as 1st Place Rookie and the highlight of the weekend, Nathan Metzger’s perfect 100 straight to take home High Over All.

Light winds and beautiful skies opened Sunday’s PA AIM Championship. The AIM competition differs from the SCTP as its categories are based on age. Our squads did very well placing in this very completive AIM event. The Junior squad of Noah Temple, Travis Tyler, Nathan Metzger, Darin Wise, and Sam Rooney took home third place in route to posting a Mason-Dixon team weekend high 475 out of 500 targets.

Sunday’s AIM event also saw three Clay Busters win individual awards. Ben Knepper won fifth place while Dawson Sterner brought home first in the Sub-Junior division.  Kristen “Lefty” Reed finished as the top Lady in the Junior Gold category.

I would be remiss if I didn’t recognize the efforts of our outstanding coaches. These people pour their hearts and souls into our team.  Great job everyone…. Look what your athletes accomplished!!

We would also like to thank Lehigh Valley Chapter Safari Club International for sponsoring our state trap events! Lehigh Valley Chapter Safari Club International has been a rock solid supporter of our program over the years and we could not do this without their help.

While some of you move on to Sporting Clays this weekend, others will set their sights on the SCTP National Team Championship in July. Whatever you have on your schedule this summer I hope you carve out some time to continue practicing!

Be sure to look for updates and important information in the coming weeks.

2017 PA State Skeet Championship

Well the rain stayed away this year but the cold and blustering wind provided an additional challenge at this years’ Pennsylvania SCTP Skeet Championship.

Twelve of Mason-Dixon’s best hit the Skeet fields at Generations Skeet Club for the first of our SCTP state championships. At the end of a very cool and windy day, three Mason-Dixon athletes took home awards. I’m very proud of everyone who competed Sunday, those were once again some very difficult conditions.

A special heartfelt thank you goes out to the parents and coaches who braved the conditions in support of our athletes. Mason-Dixon is blessed with an outstanding backbone of adult support.

Below is a list of our athletes who placed on Sunday, please join me in congratulating them on their outstanding achievements!!!

  •  1st Place Collegiate Individual – Preston Whiteman 97
  • 2nd Place Senior/Jr. Varsity – Dawson Sterner 90
